Editorial policy

We publish plain-English legal information for motorists in England and Wales. Every page is written, reviewed and dated by a named editor, with citations to primary sources.

Authoring and review

Each advice page and guide is drafted by an editor with a working knowledge of road traffic law and reviewed by a second editor before publication. We re-review pages at least every twelve months, after any sentencing guideline change, or sooner if the underlying law moves.

Tone and accuracy

We avoid jargon where possible and explain it where it is unavoidable. We do not promise outcomes. Where the law is unsettled or fact-sensitive, we say so and signpost regulated solicitors.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please use the report-an-issue form. We aim to acknowledge corrections within five working days and update or annotate the page promptly.
